OBITUARY: Dorothy A. Hall, 75

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Dorothy Ann Hall, “Dottie” of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 11, 2026, after a day of being surrounded by the love of her family.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Dottie has been reunited in Heaven with so many of her loved ones. After facing years of illness with extraordinary strength, grace, and unwavering determination, she is finally free from pain. Those who knew Dottie knew there was no one stronger. Her courage, resilience, and love will remain an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Dottie was born in Medford, Massachusetts, on December 30, 1950, the cherished daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy (Laird) Hall. She was one of nine siblings and was raised and educated in Wilmington, where she formed lifelong friendships that she treasured throughout her life.

Above all else, Dottie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mom, a proud and loving “Nani,” and an adoring great-grandmother. She raised her children in the close-knit McDonald Road neighborhood, where her home was always open to family, friends, and neighbors who quickly became extended family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose visits she eagerly anticipated and deeply cherished.

In her younger years, Dottie worked as secretary for her family’s business, C. H. Hall & Sons Roofing. She was an invaluable part of the business.

Dottie was also an active member of the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus, where she enjoyed the friendships she made over the years. An accomplished pool player, she helped lead her team to several championships and earned a reputation as the group’s “secret weapon” with a pool cue in her hands.

Creative and talented, Dottie was a gifted amateur artist with a remarkable ability for drawing and was also a writer. She has written a few children’s stories that she always wished to publish and share with her family and friends. Dottie enjoyed coming up with fun designs to make shirts that would make you laugh. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious personality that made everyone around her feel welcomed, loved, and valued.

She also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—an occasional trip to the casino, where she enjoyed “donating” and had no plan of leaving any richer than she arrived! LOL, trying her luck with a game of Keno, at the Smoke Shop down the street from home, playing Words With Friends online, and engaging in spirited games of traditional Scrabble. She liked to call herself “Keno Casino” and had been given the nick-name “South Dakota Dot,” by her brother John because of her Pool playing skills. These names always brought smiles to those who knew her.

Dottie will be remembered most for the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Dottie was the devoted mother of Henry “Hank” Bagrowski III and his partner, Laurie Fernald, of Nashua, New Hampshire; Stan Bagrowski of Chelmsford; and Gwendolyn “Sissy” Freeman and her husband, Bobby, of Manchester, New Hampshire. She was the loving “Nani” of Jaime Bagrowski and his wife, Amanda; Kaitlyn Johnson Bagrowski; Sophia Bagrowski; Aleisha Gionet and her husband, Neil; and Tommy Craig and his wife, Liv. She was the proud great-grandmother of Leo, Addie, Conrad, Garrett, and Parker.

Dorothy was the dear sister of Billy Hall of Florida; John Hall and his wife, Dorothy, of Wilmington; and Gwen Sheehan of Chelmsford. She was the beloved sister-in-law of Valerie Hall of Wilmington, Lory Nurenberg of Connecticut, Mary Hall of Maine; Donna and Jack Foster of Tewksbury, and Kevin and Denise Bagrowski of Salem, New Hampshire.

She was predeceased by her brothers Chet Hall, Frank Hall, Artie Hall, and Albie Hall; her sister that passed as an infant, Gwendolyn Dorothy Hall; her sisters-in-law Janis Hall, Sonja Hall, and Karen Bagrowski; her brothers-in-law Robert Bagrowski; and her former husband, Henry Bagrowski Jr., and former husband Robert Pica.

Dottie is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Visiting Hours at Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Avenue (Route 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, July 23rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dottie’s memory to Kitty Angels, Inc., P.O. Box 638, Tyngsboro, MA 01879.
