New Middle School Schedule Proposal, Field Trip Request, Policy Updates & More On Agenda For May 13 School Committee Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee meets this Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 6pm in Hearing Room at the Wilmington Town Hall/School Administration Building (146 Middlesex Avenue).

There are some noteworthy items on Wednesday night’s agenda, including:

— The School Committee will receive an update from the Middle School Principal on a proposed New Schedule, plus updates on No Place For Hate, ADL work, and AMLE.

— The School Committee will consider a field trip to Costa Rica and Panama for April 2028.

— The School Committee will consider approving updated policies concerning Teaching About Controversial Issues/Controversial Speakers; Animals In School; and School District Wellness Program.

— The School Committee will also conduct first readings on 13 additional updated policies, including Public Participation At School Committee Meetings, Guidelines For Public Comment, School Admissions, and Preschool Registration.

— The School Committee will conduct its annual reorganization and discuss subcommittee assignments.

— The School Committee will also receive an update from its Middle School representatives, as well as subcommittee reports from members, and public comments from the audience.
