WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee is holding a meeting this Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 7pm in the High School’s Large Instruction Room.
The meeting will be streamed live on WCTV.org and on WCTV.
There are several noteworthy items on the meeting agenda, including:
- The School Committee will hear a presentation from the Middle School’s Robotics Team.
- The School Committee will approve the 2022-2023 school calendar, as well as a donation from WHS CATS to the WHS Lamplighters Drama Guild.
- Superintendent Brand will present his bi-monthly update, which will include updates on the Athletic Summer Program, Summer Enrichment Program, Wildwood School Building Project, Regional Training and the Superintendent’s Goals.
- Brand will also present a recommendation for the last day of school.
- The School Committee will vote on whether or not to participate in the state’s School Choice program. A public comment period will take place prior to the vote.
- The School Committee will select a representative to assist with contract negotiations with the School Cafeteria Employees Association.
- The School Committee will recognize Melissa Plowman, who is departing the board later this month.
The School Committee will also hear any public comments, correspondence, and subcommittee reports. The Committee’s Middle School student representatives will also issue their monthly report.
