OBITUARY: William Ryan, 71

Below is an obituary from the Cremation Society of New Hampshire:

NASHUA, NH — William Ryan, 71, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away on Aug. 1, 2022, of cancer. Bill was predeceased by his soul mate, Carrol Ryan (Northup/Comeau); sister, Deborah Darley; and brother in-law, Victor Northup.

He also is survived by his loving daughter, Christina Ryan Perry; his four grandchildren that meant the world to him, Anthony Perry, Carly Perry, Cassidy Perry and Taryn Perry; as well as his two brothers, Bob Ryan and wife, Laura, and Frank Ryan; and his sister, Sandy Ryan, as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Bill was born on Dec. 17, 1950, in Cambridge Massachusetts. He grew up in Cambridge and Wilmington, Massachusetts, where he met his beautiful wife, Carrol. Bill and Carrol lived in New Hampshire for many years as well as in Ontario, Canada, which you have more than likely heard many a story.

Bill started his flooring career when he was just 19, and continued with his flooring business, Rytech, for 48 years. When he retired, he had started to work for the New Hampshire tolls, where you would find him with a smile and a crazy hat, and you could count on Santa during December.

Bill lived by the values he held most important, “Be willing to take a chance, travel see the world, eat the food you love, love who you want with all your heart and don’t waste this life waiting for the perfect moment, life is too short.” Bill loved to take a ride on his motorcycle, would never pass up a game of cribbage or backgammon; he took great pleasure serving cotton candy and popcorn to all the family, especially the kids, at the Ryan parties. He enjoyed cooking as well as going to all his favorite restaurants.

Our family is grateful to know that Bill is with his love and is at peace. He will be missed dearly.

SERVICES: A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 13, 2022, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, New Hampshire. It was Bills request for this to not be treated as a funeral but to honor his life. Please dress as if you were visiting him at home. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Bill’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org) or the ALS Association (https://www.als.org/donate).
