CAN’T MISS MEETING: Select Board To Discuss How To Pay For New Senior Center & Town Hall; What To Do With Wildwood Students For Next 5 Years; Rte. 62 Project & More At Aug. 8 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Select Board meets this Monday, August 8, 2022 at 7pm in the Town Hall Auditorium.

There are some noteworthy items on the agenda.

The Select Board will hear numerous presentations:

  • status updates on the Senior Center Building Project and the Town Hall/School Administration Building Project from both building committees
  • finance options for both proposed building projects from Finance Director Bryan Perry
  • the evaluation of options for accomodating students and staff from the Wildwood Early Childhood Center in advance of a potential construction of a new school
  • status update on the Route 62 culvert project at Lubbers Brook from DPW Director Jamie Migaldi & Town Engineer Paul Alunni
  • update on the services provided by the Veterans Department from Veterans Services Director Lou Cimaglia

The Select Board will receive numerous written updates on town matters, including:

  • the placement of a traffic signal in front of the fire bays at the Public Safety Building
  • improvements made to the baseball field’s infield at Wilmington High
  • the Health Department receiving a Public Health Excellence Grant
  • the interior redesign of the library’s first floor and its 2022 Welcome To Tewksbury Reception
  • oil spill remediation at the Wildwood Early Childhood Center
  • status report on New England Transrail and Wilmington Woburn Intermodal

The Select Board will take votes on:

  • the performance evaluation of the Town Manager
  • calling a Special Town Meeting on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 9am in the WHS Auditorium
  • formally opening the Special Town Meeting warrant and considering a closing date
  • signing a warrant for the State Primary Election
  • a request from Wilmington’s Health & Recovery Coordinator Samantha Cavanaugh to host a vigil on the Town Common on Monday, September 19, 2022, from 6:30pm to 8pm
  • a request from Wilmington Rotary Club to use Rotary Park for its Annual Community Ice Bucket Challenge on Saturday, August 27, 2022, beginning at 10am
  • a request from Grace Chapel to use the Town Common for a Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 1pm to 4pm
  • a request from Verizon and RMLD to relocate a pole on Jacquith Road
  • a request for a common victular’s license for EJ’s Fresh Frozen Pizza
  • an application for the change of officer at Red Heat Tavern
