WILMINGTON, MA — Joseph Wayne Grafton, 72, of Wilmington, Mass, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 peacefully in his home. Born October 16, 1949 in Kittanning to Dale V. and Margaret (Gray) Grafton.
Joe grew up in West Kittanning and graduated from Kittanning Sr. High School and Lenape School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. While stationed in Boston he met the love of his life, and married Karen Blake the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Brown) Blake. They celebrated 51 years of marriage this past February.
Joe worked for the U.S. Postal Service and for the city of Malden, Mass before retiring.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Karen and their children and grandchildren, Jennifer (Jesse) Morgan and their children Hailey Morgan and Chloe Morgan of Loudon, NH; Michael (Lynda) Grafton and their child Michael “Mikey” Grafton who was the light of his life of Lynnfield, MA; his memory will be cherished by his siblings Shirley Bankowski of Sewickley, Marlene Rizzo of Niagara Falls, NY, Rita (Ron) Schaub of Kittanning, James Grafton of Endwell, NY, Susan (Ron) Bowser of Ford City, Stephen (Karen) Grafton of New Hampshire, Terri (Karl) Scardina of Ford City, and Faye (Gary Heigley of Ford City; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Fred Willis of Kittanning; Joe is also survived by his wife’s family of 9 sisters and brothers.
In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by brother in laws Phillip Bankowski and John Rizzo; sister in law Connie Grafton and nephew Johnnie Rizzo.
According to Joe’s wishes there will be no services at this time, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please tell some one you love them.
