OBITUARY: Gwendolyn L. (Fisher) Ethier, 79

LITTLETON, MA — Gwendolyn L. (Fisher) Ethier unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Gwen was born in Cambridge, MA on February 8, 1939 and grew up in Wilmington, MA where she was a gifted athlete of many sports. She moved to Littleton, MA where she raised her family on their small farm. She was later employed at Lasertron and MA/Com in Burlington, MA, before retiring. In her free time, Gwen enjoyed bicycling, snowmobiling, photography and gardening. She was also an avid Boston sports fan.

Gwen is survived by her children: Richard B. Ethier III, of Shirley, MA; Michael Ethier, of Fitchburg, MA; William Ethier and his wife, Paula, of Greenville, ME; Wendy Ethier, of Roslindale and Rhonda Ethier, of Fitchburg, MA. Her grandchildren: Stacia Kilpatrick, Mark Kilpatrick, Grace Ethier, Rocky Ethier, Alexander Ethier, Carissa Ethier, Michael Ethier Jr., Stephanie Ethier, Jonathan Ethier, Kyle Ethier, Adam Ethier, Cory Harunkiewicz, Bradley Harunkiewicz and Brittany Nance. She is also survived by her siblings: Philip Fisher and his wife, Barbara; Doris Morrissey and her husband, James; Violet Baker and her husband, Joseph; Donald Fisher and his wife, Judy; and many nieces and nephews. Gwen was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Ethier, grandson, Lindsay Nance Jr., brothers Robert Rodman, Douglas Fisher, John Fisher and sister, Karen Parker.

Family and friends attended a graveside memorial at Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Rd, Littleton, MA on September 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gwen’s memory to the American Cancer Society or MSPCA-Angell.
