The Wilmington Insider For October 25, 2018

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Thursday, October 25, 2018:

Happening Today:

Weather: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Early Voting: Early voting continues today! The Town of Wilmington is offering early voting, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, in the Town Hall Auditorium.

Debate Night: The debate for the 19th Middlesex State Rep seat will be held at 7pm in the Wilmington High School Auditorium. All three candidates will be participating. This event is open to the public and voters are encouraged to attend to see the candidates talking about the biggest issues facing the district. The debate will also air live on WCTV’s Government Channel (Comcast 22 / Verizon 38) and will also stream inside the WCTV App and online at

WCTV is partnering with the Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce to host the debate at Wilmington High School. News outlets which will be involved in debate format and questions include the Lowell Sun, Wilmington Apple, Wilmington Town Crier and Your Tewksbury Today.

At Wilmington Public Schools: Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand is holding another Community Meeting at 6:30pm at the Wilmington Middle School. The Wilmington community is invited to attend these meetings, including community members who may not have children in the school system, to provide feedback to Brand about Wilmington Public Schools.

In The Community: The Wilmington Community Chorus rehearses every Thursday, from 7pm to 9pm, at St. Elizabeth’s (4 Forest Street). New members welcome. No tryout required. Learn more HERE.

At The Library: Tech Buddies Drop-In at 6:30pm. [Learn more and register HERE.]

At The Senior Center: Walking Group at 8am. Art Class at 10am. Aerobics at 10:30am. Knitting/Crocheting at 11am. Game Day at 1pm. Ceramics at 1pm. [Learn more HERE.]

At Town Museum: The Town Museum (430 Salem Street) is open from 10am to 2pm. Come explore Wilmington’s history. Free admission.
