10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (June 17, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, June 17, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see scattered showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Areas of fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

#2) Team Sweaty Already is running its annual ‘Bags & Beers Cornhole Tournament’ to support the National MS Society at 1pm at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue). Read more HERE.

#3) The 2017 Wilmington-Billerica Relay For Life wraps up around 5am at Wilmington High School. Learn more HERE.

#4) The 2017 Wilmington Cooperstown Team is holding a Baseball Breakfast Fundraiser at 9am at the Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street). Tickets cost $10 each.

#5) St. Thomas and St. Dorothy’s is holding a Food Drive and Cleaning Supply Drive this weekend.  Donations can be left in each church’s lobby prior to each mass.

#6) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is kicking off its Children’s Summer Reading Program with a Magic Show at 11am.  Learn more and register HERE.

#8) The Town Beach is open today.  Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.
