WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington will have to wait ONE more year before “Haunted Woods” returns.
The popular event, typically held during the two weekends leading up to Halloween, featured an assortment of scary attractions behind the Town Museum, from abandoned classrooms to a 3D glow/clown room, from a bloody butcher shop to a hallway maze, from a funeral home to a junkyard.
Organizer Stephen Valenti posted the official announcement on his event’s website yesterday:
I would like to thank all those who have supported and have returned year after year to experience “Haunted Woods” whether you were a customer, volunteer, or actor! After seven straight years of coordinating an event of a growing magnitude it was an extremely tough decision to make, but one that would have to be made.
I am currently a senior in college starting one of my most challenging years, therefore I needed to take this year off to focus on completing my education and future career.
In addition I would like to say thank you to my family, friends, and to everyone who has helped make “Haunted Woods” possible through the years! Special thanks to Terry McDermott and the Wilmington Historical Commission!
With this being said I have full intentions to return in October 2017 “Bigger and better than ever”! Hope to see everyone then!
