DEERFIELD, NH — Dennis O. Getz, age 73, of Deerfield, New Hampshire, passed away on July 29, 2026, at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, New Hampshire.
He was born in Hamden, Connecticut, on August 23, 1952, the son of the late Arthur and Lucille (Schmidt) Getz.
Dennis earned an associate degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and worked as a mechanical engineer for Koch Membrane Systems in Wilmington, Massachusetts. He was a kind, gentle, and resilient man who loved his family deeply.
Dennis was predeceased by his loving wife, Charlotte I. Melino-Getz, who passed away in 2020, and his daughter, Alexandria L. Melino-Getz, who passed away in 2010.
He is survived by his children, Dennis R. A. Melino-Getz and his wife, Dawn Elwell, of Deerfield, New Hampshire; Dustin H. Melino-Getz and his wife, Laura, of Haverhill, Massachusetts; and Rory Alexia Lajoie and her husband, Jason, of Plaistow, New Hampshire. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert A. Getz and his wife, Johnnie, of Tennessee, and Kenneth E. Getz and his wife, Lucia, of Florida; his grandchildren, Alivia, Avaya, Alex, Matthew, Cameron, Blake, and Meadow; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, August 5th from 10-12 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main Street, Haverhill. A graveside service will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
In honor of Dennis’s lifelong love of animals, memorial contributions in his memory may be to an animal shelter of the donor’s choosing.
