Economic Development, West School Window Project, Highway Billboard, Community Events & More On Agenda For August 17 Select Board Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Select Board meets this Monday, August 17, 2026 at 7pm in the Hearing Room at the new Town Hall.

There are some noteworthy items on Monday night’s agenda, including:

— The Select Board will hold a public hearing to amend its rules and regulations for alcohol licenses.

— The Select Board will hold a public hearing to request a special permit to install a billboard at 155 West Street.

— The Select Board will consider the request from Oak & Iron Brewing for a one-day alcohol license to sell beer and wine at the Wilmington Famers Market’s Farm to Fork Celebration at the Senior Center.

— The Select Board will receive an update from the Wilmington Economic Development Committee.

— The Select Board will receive a written update from the Wilmington Public Buildings Department regarding the West Intermediate Window Project.

— The Select Board will receive a Public Health notice regarding West Nile Virus detected in Wilmington.

— The Select Board will consider executing authorization of bond insurance to the MWRA in the amount of $590,000.

— The Select Board will consider executing a temporary license agreement with Tesla regarding the Reading Municipal Light Department’s Electric Vehicle Car Show.

— The Select Board will consider the request of the Library Director to hold an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, September 23 from 5pm to 7:30pm at Rotary Park.

— The Select Board will consider the request of the Cultural Council to host activities prior to the Horribles Parade on Sunday, October 25 from 3pm to 4:45pm at Rotary Park.

— The Select Board will consider appointing Lauren Andrews as a member of the Wilmington Cultural Council.

— The Select Board will consider the request of Lisa Stokes to hold a Neighborhood Block Party for residents of Harold Avenue on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 4pm to 8pm.

— The Select Board will consider the request to place a Menorah on the Gazebo at Town Common for Hannukah for December 4, 2026 through December 12, 2026.
