WILMINGTON, MA — Helen Elizabeth (Bromander) Moulton, age 102, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 7, 2026.
Helen was born at home in Medford on February 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Sidney and Eunice (Dawson) Bromander. She was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. Helen married Lloyd G. Moulton in 1949, and together they made their home in Wilmington, where they raised their four children.
When her kids were grown, Helen went to work at the IRS in Andover, eventually rising to the position of Unit Supervisor in the Batching and Numbering Unit. She greatly enjoyed her work and did not retire until she was 76 years old.
After her retirement, she and Lloyd enjoyed traveling, gardening and socializing with family and friends.
Helen was a familiar and friendly presence in the Wilmington community. She was a longtime member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time at the Wilmington Senior Center. A talented bridge player and fierce pounce (Nerts) competitor, Helen especially loved gathering around the card table with friends and family, sharing plenty of conversation and laughter along the way. She also loved to attend her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. One of her favorite lines was “If someone asks me if I’d like to…, I say yes!”
Helen was the devoted mother of Lloyd Moulton and his wife Kathy of Reading, Connie Holleman and her husband Toby of Apex, NC, Barbara Moulton and her wife Susan Huber of Lewes, DE, and Gregg Moulton and his wife Patricia of Wilmington.
Most importantly, she was the doting “Mema” to grandchildren Derek (Alyssa), Keith (Meredith), Casey (Bill), Jaclyn (Sean), Kyle (Lexi), Blake (Kelly), Aaron (Diana), Sindy, Ruben, and Shannon (Alyssa), and great-grandchildren Jacob, Griffin, Hadley, Connor, Camryn, Henry, Ellie, Nathan, Shayla, Abigail Helen, Lucas, Laila, and Archer. To Mema, all children — but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — were to be cherished and celebrated.
Helen is also survived by her brother Joseph Bromander and his wife Carole of Medford and was predeceased by her brother Sidney Bromander and his wife Rose. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Monday, August 24th from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen’s name may be made to the Wilmington Senior Center, 130 Main Street, Wilmington, MA 01887.
