WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Town Clerk’s Office recently published information about Early Voting for the State Primary on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
In Person Early Voting Schedule for the 2026 State Primary
Location: The Great Hall inside the new Town Hall (146 Middlesex Avenue)
Saturday August 22, 2026 — 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Monday, August 24, 2026 — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, August 25, 2026 — 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 26, 2026 — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday August 27, 2026 — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Friday, August 28, 2026 — 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Vote By Mail & Absentee Voting for the 2026 State Primary
If you would like to receive a Vote By Mail Early Ballot or an Absentee ballot, you must apply every year. This means is you applied for one in 2025, you need to apply again in 2026. Once the Town Clerk’s Office receives the ballots, it will start mailing them out.

— Additionally, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Election Division mailed out “Vote by Mail” post card applications.
The deadline to request a ballot in the mail, whether Absentee or Vote by Mail, is August 19, 2026.
These ballots can be mailed back to the Town Clerk’s Office or dropped off at the new Town Hall. There will be a designated ballot drop box in the front of the new Town Hall.
Voter Registration Deadline
The last day to register to vote in the Primary Election is August 22, 2026

Ballot Color Change
At the most recent Select Board Meeting, the Town Clerk reported that the state has changed the primary ballot colors to align with the colors associated with the political parties — the blue primary ballot will now be for those voting in the Democratic primary and the red-ish primary ballot will now be for those voting in the Republican primary.
