OBITUARY: Paul M. Gracia, 69

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Paul Gracia passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, after a battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at his home in Brewster, Massachusetts.

He is survived by his devoted partner of 30 years, Kim Richardson; his children, Lindsay Gracia and Kyle Gracia (Marie), and grandson George; his siblings, Michael Gracia (Julie), Tom Gracia (Sandra), Susan Davidson (Bruce), and Nancy McMahon (Bill). He was predeceased by his parents, Frank “FOG” Gracia and Nora “Pat” Gracia.

Affectionately known as “Esta” to family and friends, Paul was born in Dorchester, MA on January 21, 1957, the eldest of five children born to Frank “FOG” Gracia and Nora “Pat” (McLaughlin) Gracia.

When Paul was young, the Gracia family settled in Wilmington, MA where he enjoyed an active childhood of neighborhood adventures and Lawrence Street hockey. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1974 and went on to earn a degree in Mathematics from Saint Joseph’s College.

Paul built a successful career in software engineering, a field that suited his sharp intellect and analytical mind, proven by his Jeopardy prowess. Yet those who knew him best will remember that his greatest joy came not from his professional accomplishments, but from the people he loved and the memories he created with them.

He loved organizing road rallies, playing softball for Doyle’s hardware, competing in whist tournaments, hosting memorable Halloween parties, and cheering passionately for Boston sports teams. Paul was known for bringing people together- he brought warmth, humor, and enthusiasm wherever he went.

A lifelong athlete, Paul continued playing softball well into retirement, competing in the Cape Cod Senior Softball League and enjoying the camaraderie of teammates and friends. He and Kim made their home in Brewster after his retirement in 2016, embracing the Cape Cod lifestyle they loved so much. Together they enjoyed morning walks along the beach with their beloved golden retriever, Tedy, evenings listening to live music, and the simple pleasures of life by the sea.

Paul will be remembered for his quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. His presence made every gathering brighter, and his memory will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.

His family takes comfort in knowing that while Paul’s time with them was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he shared will remain forever.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Wednesday, June 17th from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m. followed by a Service at 6:30 p.m. and a Celebration of Life at the Knights of Columbus, Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 7:00 p.m.
