WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Monday, June 8, 2026:
A car struck a pole on Salem Street. Airbag deployed. Pole snapped in half. Street was closed from Harnden Tavern to Beneventos. Medical center notified of street closure. Verizon and RMLD notified. Vehicle towed. Driver was cited for marked lanes violation. (7:15am)
A caller reported a male party in his late 20’s told a Market Basket employee was going to shoot him. He made a gesture to under his shirt, but no weapon was shown. Police could not locate individual, and contacted Tewksbury Police. (10:15am)
A caller reported a tree company took down trees on Boutwell Street and left logs across the sidewalk. Company has since left. Police confirmed logs are blocking sidewalk and contacted company, who agreed to have them removed today. (2:56pm)
A walk-in party reported he was being extorted. (4:56pm)
