Deare Editor,
The Wilmington Department of Veterans Services would like to thank all the men, women and children that helped us have a special Memorial Day weekend.
The Children that helped place a flag and a flower on every Veterans Grave at the Wildwood Cemetery did an amazing job and we were able to Honor our fallen Comrades along with members of the community, Police Explorers, Wilmington Police Department, Scouts and Wilmington Veteran Organizations.
Thank you to Jamie Magaldi and the Department of Public Works for cleaning all the monuments around town and getting the Veterans Lot ready for the weekend.
Thank you to Wilmington’s Saint Thomas-Villanova Father Darin Colarusso for his services over the weekend.
The morning of the Parade was another wonderful display of teamwork. From Lou Cimaglia, James Kent and Rob Gauthier assisting getting the parade in order during the heavy rain to Bill Manning cooking the hot dogs and serving them to the children after the parade.
Thank you to the Wilmington Market Basket and Wilmington House of Pizza for allowing us to stage in their parking lots every year.
But most of all we would like to send out a big thank you to all the residents of Wilmington that took the time out of their busy weekend to spend some time to honor our fallen heroes.
THANK YOU
Michael Frotten, Director
Ted Vrooman, Veterans Service Officer
Patti Meehan, Caseworker
