DERRY, NH — Joseph Cornish, 59, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday May 12, 2026 in his home. He was born in Wilmington, MA on June 7, 1966, a son of Margaret (Grassia) Cornish and the late Percival Cornish. He had been a resident of Derry for the past 2 1/2 years, formerly living in Chester, NH and Wilmington, MA. Joseph graduated high school from St. Johns Prep in Danvers, MA, received his undergraduate BS in Biology Pre Med from St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, NH, and his Masters of Health Science in Pathologist Assistant from Yale University where he was a Fellow. He had a career as a pathologist assistant for 28 years. Joseph was a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Londonderry where he served with the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Cornish of Derry; his children, Jocelyn Cornish, and Joey Cornish both of Wilmington; his stepdaughter, Briana Murphy of Boston, MA; his sister, Michelle Cornish of Chester; as well as several cousins with whom he was very close. He was predeceased by his brother, Eric Cornish and his father, Percival Cornish.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 19th at 10:30am in St. Mark The Evangelist Parish, 1 South Road, Londonderry, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark the Evangelist Parish. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
