Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Police Department:
WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Police Department is pleased to welcome members of the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission to our department this week. This assessment is part of the voluntary process to achieve state accreditation, a respected recognition of professional excellence in law enforcement. The assessment team will verify that our Department meets the Commission’s established standards.
A team of assessors will be on-site from Monday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 13, 2026, conducting a three-day evaluation.
During the assessment, the team will review our policies, facilities, and equipment. We are required to demonstrate compliance with all mandatory standards, as well as a percentage of optional standards based on the size of our agency.
As part of the process, the public is invited to provide comments to the Commission regarding the Department as they relate to accreditation standards. Written comments can be submitted to: Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission, 110 Haverhill Road, Bldg. C – Suite 397, Amesbury, MA 01913.
