Born on August 4, 1941, in Lawrence, MA, Marcie was the cherished daughter of the late Edward F. and Marcella J. (Finn) Praetz. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and went on to attend the University of Lowell, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education.

Marcie dedicated her life to teaching and nurturing young minds. She began her career at the Wildwood School in Wilmington, where she formed lasting friendships with colleagues and made a meaningful impact on her students. She continued her work in education as a substitute teacher in the Wilmington School System for many years, spending much of her time at the North and West Intermediate Schools.

In 1965, Marcie met the love of her life, Roger, on a blind date. They soon settled in Wilmington, where they built a home filled with love and raised their two sons, Roger and Paul. Together, the family shared countless cherished memories filled with fun, laughter, and adventure. Marcie and Roger were devoted partners who shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before Roger’s passing this past February.

Marcie found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her yard, planting and caring for her flowers with pride and dedication. The beach held a special place in her heart, especially Hampton Beach, where she and Roger spent many summers watching their children surf, sail, and play in the sand. Time spent along the coast with extended family brought her immense happiness and created lasting memories. In 2000, Marcie and Roger retired and made Hampton their permanent home.

Marcie was the beloved wife of the late Roger W. Quandt; devoted mother of Roger W. Quandt, Jr., and the late Paul E. Quandt; dear sister of the late Anna Pierce and her husband Jack, and the late Helen Dehm and her husband Roy.
