To the Editor:
We are writing to express our support for Rob Fasulo for the Wilmington Select Board.
While we have only known Rob for about a year, it didn’t take long to recognize the caliber of his character. In a time when political rhetoric often outweighs action, we have found Rob to be a man of his word who listens and takes decisive action.
Having spent his entire life in Wilmington, it is clear that Rob is profoundly invested in making our town a great place to live. His roots here run deep, and that history informs every decision he makes. One of the qualities we admire most about Rob is that he is refreshingly outspoken. He is not afraid to challenge those in authority whom he believes to be disingenuous. In recent months, we have watched him stand up at meetings and ask the tough questions that others shy away from. He has been a vocal advocate for transparency and municipal accountability, particularly when it comes to finances, and the preservation of our town’s historical and environmental integrity.
A perfect example of Rob’s dedication is his work to save the Buzzell School. When the future of that historic building was in jeopardy, Rob didn’t just voice his concern; he worked tirelessly alongside other residents to ensure its preservation. He understood that the Buzzell isn’t just a building—it’s a part of our town’s history. By collaborating with others to protect this landmark, he proved that he has the leadership skills to unite people around a common cause and the tenacity to see it through to a successful conclusion.
In addition to his strong convictions, Rob possesses a crucial trait for a public servant: he is willing and able to listen to both sides of an argument. He takes in all the information before reaching a conclusion, and respects the rights of others to disagree with him. Rob understands that a healthy town government requires civil discourse and the courage to stand by one’s principles while still valuing a community’s diverse perspectives.
Rob doesn’t just show up; he speaks up for the residents who feel their voices aren’t being heard by current leadership. He has a profound respect for the will of the voters and is committed to ensuring that Town Hall reflects the community’s desires.
Rob will be a refreshing addition to the Select Board—someone who will do what is best for the residents of Wilmington, even when it means challenging the status quo. He is the bold, honest, and dedicated type of leader our Select Board needs. We hope you will join us in voting for Rob Fasulo on Election Day.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth and Steve Berube, Wilmington Residents
