Dear Wilmington friends and neighbors,
I am pleased to offer my endorsement of Jenn Bryson and Michael Mercaldi for School Committee.
As a member and current chair of the Wilmington School Committee, I have the pleasure of serving with Jenn and Michael and have done so for several years. The students, parents teachers, and staff of Wilmington Public Schools are fortunate to have these two dedicated, passionate, highly qualified and experienced candidates running for reelection.
As a parent, former classroom teacher, and current professor Jenn Bryson has first-hand knowledge of what our students and teachers need to thrive in and out of the classroom. She has been at the forefront of many important initiatives in her time on the committee including developing the strategic plan, hiring superintendents, working to improve special education, successfully navigating the MSBA process and securing state funding for a new elementary school, and negotiating several important contracts just to name a few.
Michael brings an informed, data-driven approach to meetings that is often rooted in analysis. He has helped lead on a number of initiatives including hiring a director of finance, working to improve transportation performance, developing fiscally responsible budgets, and reinvigorating community engagement.
This year we have an opportunity to re-elect two intelligent, diligent, and accomplished individuals to represent us on the school committee. I encourage you to join me on April 25th in casting your two votes for School Committee for Jenn Bryson and Michael Mercaldi.
