Dear Wilmington friends,
The Wilmington Fire Union hockey team is looking to defend its title in the 8th annual BFIT Heroes Cup hockey tournament. The Heroes Cup is not only a weekend of hockey, it’s a chance to raise money and support various first responder and veteran charities. The host charity of the tournament is the Healing Heroes foundation which is a first responder founded and run nonprofit foundation that supports the well being of high risk service professionals and their families. The Healing Heroes foundation’s vision is to create a network for support and resources to empower first responders and veterans to prioritize their well being without fear or judgement. The fire union hockey team has elected to select 22 Mohawks as our charity to support with our fundraising effort. For those unfamiliar, 22 Mohawks is a veteran run and founded organization supporting veterans and first responders experiencing mental health challenges.
Along with the money we raise through the hockey tournament itself, a large sum of what we raise comes to us through generosity of our families, kind residents like yourself, and local small businesses.
AJ’s Kitchen (162 Lowell Street) has graciously agreed to donate a percentage of total sales on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 towards our effort.
Anyone that is interested in donating can scan the QR code on the event flyer or reach us at (978) 658-3346 at the Wilmington Public Safety Building located at 1 Adelaide Street in Wilmington or can reach out to L1370’s Chris Elliott at 978-987-0206.
Thank you for your time, continued support. Please consider donating to support the community!
Respectfully,
Wilmington Firefighters Hockey Club
Local 1370
