Town To Award $300,000 In Grants To Businesses To Improve The Physical Appearance Of Their Storefronts

WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington is pleased to announce that $300,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds have been allocated for storefront improvement grants for Wilmington businesses that were impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic. This grant program carries out a goal identified in the 2021 State-sponsored Local Rapid Recovery Plan, to provide funding for businesses to enhance the physical appearance of the main commercial corridors to become a safe and attractive place to do business.

Businesses may be awarded grant funds of up to $25,000 with this program, with applicants providing a matching dollar amount of 10% of the total project cost. Funding will be provided in the form of reimbursement after project work is complete. Applications are due to the Department of Planning & Conservation by 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2023. Grant awards are expected to be announced in September 2023.
