Town To Award $300,000 In Grants To Businesses To Improve The Physical Appearance Of Their Storefronts

WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington is pleased to announce that $300,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds have been allocated for storefront improvement grants for Wilmington businesses that were impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic. This grant program carries out a goal identified in the 2021 State-sponsored Local Rapid Recovery Plan, to provide funding for businesses to enhance the physical appearance of the main commercial corridors to become a safe and attractive place to do business.

Businesses may be awarded grant funds of up to $25,000 with this program, with applicants providing a matching dollar amount of 10% of the total project cost. Funding will be provided in the form of reimbursement after project work is complete. Guidelines and the application for this program are available on the Wilmington Economic Development Committee website: https://www.wilmingtonma.gov/economic-development-committee.

Applications are due to the Department of Planning & Conservation by 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2023. Grant awards are expected to be announced in September 2023.
