Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Sandra Lou (Skilling) Miller, age 55, a long-time resident of North Reading, MA passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, after battling cancer.
She was born in Stoneham, MA in 1967 and raised in Wilmington, MA. She was the cherished daughter of Carol Skilling and the late Jerry Skilling, proud mother of Terry and Courtney, and a beloved sister and aunt. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1987, earned an associate degree in early childhood education at Hesser College, and became certified as an emergency medical technician. She worked as a pre-school teacher, later as an EMT in Cambridge, and most recently at Elia’s Country Store in Wilmington.
Sandy liked to stay active by visiting family and playing Pokémon Go. She adored her daughters and was happy to be able to see both her girls get married to wonderful guys, David and Duncan.
You could always find her wearing a baseball cap, encouraging friends and family, and helping out with yard work (or supervising when she couldn’t pitch in). She was the communication hub for her entire extended family, getting everyone together and keeping everyone connected. She was always in touch and ever ready to lend an ear to listen. She also loved games and puzzles of all kinds and continued to reign supreme at family card games.
Sandy loved Cape Cod, cherry Coke, thunderstorms, fireworks, rock music, a good (or bad) joke, horses, family pets, and warm summer weather.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Skilling of Wilmington; her two daughters and their spouses, Terry and Dave Williams of Methuen and Courtney and Duncan Morris of Tewksbury; and her four siblings, Randy Skilling (wife Karen), Rob Skilling (wife Janice), Janet Beecher, and Roger Skilling (wife Shannon). She was the loving aunt to eight nieces and eight nephews: Angie, Robbie, Samantha, Kristina, Tracey, Paul, Alex, Jenna, Jacob, Sam, Harrison, Jack, Gracelyn, Michael, Scarlett, and Zoey.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Sunday, the 23rd day of April 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a service and reception at the Congregational Church in Wilmington, 220 Middlesex Ave.
Memorial donations in Sandy’s name may be made to Gentle Giant Draft Horse Rescue, 17250 Old Frederick Rd, Mount Airy, MD 21771 or www.gentlegiantsdrafthorserescue.org in lieu of flowers.
