ANDOVER, MA — Fran Peters, 60, of Andover, MA unexpectedly passed away on November 27, 2022, his 29th Wedding Anniversary at Massachusetts General Hospital of Heart Arrythmia due to complications from Pneumonia surrounded by his wife Tracey, his brothers in law and his cousins. He was born on December 23,1961 in Planview, NY to the late Edmund and Joan (Dunne) Peters.
Fran was a graduate of Pocono High School and East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Physical Education and Health Education. Fran grew up in Old Beth Page, NY and Tobyhanna, PA. Fran worked at the Bank of New York, in Manhattan for several years. He met his wife Tracey at Camelback Mountain in PA, while they were skiing. Fran and Tracey eventually moved to Huntington Beach California for a short time before they moved to the island of Oahu, HI. While in Hawaii Fran worked in mortgages, rediscovered his love of playing lacrosse, golfed and ran an afterschool program for children in Waikiki. They eventually moved back to Huntington Beach, CA where they settled for 15 years. Fran worked as an HR Director for multiple mortgage companies. His passion however was all things sports especially skiing, golf, NASCAR and lacrosse and as a fan the NY Jets and the NY Mets, and as a convert the LA Angels where he had season tickets. He also coached lacrosse and ended his coaching career in Southern California as the head lacrosse coach at Sage Hill School in Newport Beach, CA. They then moved to Massachusetts where they first settled in the North End then moved to Wilmington, Ma where he was head lacrosse coach at Wilmington High School and finally settled in Andover, MA
Fran is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Tracey Gauthier-Peters. He is survived by his sister Maryfran and her husband Allan Bohner of Ponce Inlet, FL; his sister Jeanne Patti; his brother Edmund Peters both of Daytona Beach, FL; His father-in-law Robert Gauthier of North Andover; his sister-in-law Joan Gauthier and her husband Jack Simko of Newbury, MA; his brother-in-law Robert Gauthier Jr of Salem, NH; his brother-in-law William Gauthier and his wife Beatrice of Riverside, CA; his nephew Jeremy and his wife Anita, and their children; his nephew Chris and his wife Heidi and their children; his niece Jennifer and her son; his niece Tonicia and her husband Robbie Hardy; his nephew Kurt and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister Susan Kearney and her husband Joe Kearney.
There will be a Celebration of Fran’s life on April 22, 2023 beginning with a Funeral Mass at Saint Michaels Church in North Andover, Ma at 11:30 AM. The Mass is immediately followed by an interment for Fran at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover. Fran’s Mother-in-Law, Anne Curran Gauthier and his Brother in Law Robert R Gauthier will also be laid to rest during this time.
