SANTA CRUZ, CA — Vanessa “Ayah” Buonaugurio, 38, formerly of Essex, MA, died unexpectedly after a brief illness on February 10, 2023.
Vanessa was the cherished daughter of Patricia Gallagher-Martin and her late husband, David, of Essex, MA and Peter Buonaugurio and his long-time partner, Maria Sordillo, of Wilmington, MA. Vanessa was the dear sister of Richard Buonaugurio and his long-time partner Danielle Flygare, of Amherst, MA; and Stephanie Buonaugurio and her partner Sean Clark of Bridgewater, MA. Vanessa is also survived by her loving grandmother Anne Gallagher. She was also the loving aunt of her nephew Charles Buonaugurio. Vanessa also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and many very special friends.
Funeral Services was held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at St. John the Baptist Church, 52 Main St. Essex, MA. A private internment will take place at a later date.
As is customary and in observance of Lent, the Church has requested that no flower donations be sent to the Church.
