METHUEN, MA — Kevin “Hal” Sutton, 54 of Methuen, MA, died Thursday at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, from complications of heart issues. He was a resident of Methuen, MA for the past 28 years, formerly of Salem, NH.
Hal was born in Malden, MA to Maureen (Rafferty) and the late James Sutton. Hal grew up and was educated in Wilmington, MA. He graduated from Shawsheen Tech in Billerica, MA, where he was a star athlete in baseball and hockey. He received the Merrimack Valley All Star Award for baseball and was inducted into the hall of fame.
Hal worked as an engineer for Mettler Toledo in Billerica, MA. Hal’s life revolved around his family and hockey. He loved to play hockey ever since he could walk. He later started playing golf and got the nick name from his hockey friends, who would call him “Hal Sutton”, like the pro golfer. He met his wife at Hampton Beach and was loved at first sight. He enjoyed traveling with her to Key Largo, FL.
Hal was predeceased by his father James Sutton.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lynne (Shimkonis) Sutton of Methuen, MA
Sons: Kevin Sutton of Methuen, MA and Jake and his wife Sarah Sutton of Waldorf, MD
His Mother: Maureen (Rafferty) Sutton of Atkinson, NH
Siblings: Jacqueline “Jackie” Sutton and her fiancé Michael Colby of Raymond, NH and Steven Sutton of Raymond, NH
His precious granddaughter Charlotte May SuttonSeveral Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Monday, November 28th from 4-7 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. Graveside services will be private for the family.
