OBITUARY: Kelly Ryan Carter, 28

WILMINGTON, MA — Kelly Ryan Carter, age 28, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2022.

Kelly was born on January 1, 1994 in Winchester, MA; he was the son of Stephanie (Carter) Ackerman and Ryan McCoy. Kelly was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2012.

Following graduation, Kelly attended ITT Technical Institute, where he studied technology. Kelly worked as an IT Consultant at the Robert Half Corporation.

Kelly enjoyed spending time with close family and friends; he loved to sit and talk for hours-he never had a shortage of stories to tell. Kelly loved listening to music with friends and watching sports on the T.V., especially the Celtics. He grew up fishing on his grandparent’s boat and loved spending time on the ocean with them.

Kelly will be remembered for his love of cooking and enjoyed being in the kitchen. He had the biggest heart and a kind soul. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Kelly was the cherished son of Stephanie (Carter) Ackerman & Christopher Ackerman of Wilmington and Ryan McCoy & his wife Denise of Manchester, NH, dear brother of Matthew Ackerman, Nicholas Ackerman, Liam McCoy and Erin McCoy, loving grandson of John & Connie Carter of Wilmington and Tom & Nancy McCoy of Meredith, NH, nephew of John & Jenn Carter of NC, Hilary & J.P. Camire of Rochester, NH, and Eric McCoy of Amherst, NH. Kelly is also survived by a large extended family and many close friends that were like brothers. Kelly will also be missed by his two dogs, Gus and Mr. Winston.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Thursday, June 23rd at 9:00 a.m. immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 22nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Kelly’s name may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Foundation, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02115.
