Below is an announcement from the Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project, which services Wilmington:
NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Now that we are approaching the 2022 summer season, the Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) has a specific larval control program to target and treat abandoned swimming pools. These areas can quickly become significant larval mosquito habitat.
CMMCP has extended release, bacterial products that can reduce or eliminate the hatch of all mosquito species, some of which that could carry disease. One treatment per year is all that is necessary.
Treatment of the pools is at no cost to the city/town or the resident, and the pool can later be opened if the resident so desires.
Information on these bacterial products used by CMMCP can be found HERE.
The contact form to request this free service from the CMMCP can be found HERE.
