OBITUARY: Susan B. (McKenna) Gauthier, 76

WILMINGTON, MA — Susan B. Gauthier (McKenna), age 76, of Somersworth, NH, formerly of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2022.

Susan was born on October 16, 1945; she was the dear daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Butters) McKenna. Susan was raised and educated in Wilmington, MA.

Prior to retiring, Susan, worked in the Accounting Department for Ann & Hope Stores for many years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to country music and she always had her nose in a book reading.

Susan was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren; she loved being outside with the kids playing whatever sport they were doing.

Susan was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Gauthier, devoted mother of Edward Gauthier & his wife Erin, Sean McKenna & his wife Marika, and Richard Gauthier & his wife Shannon, Frank Gauthier, Debbie Meyer & her husband Patrick, Sandy Gray and Marty Flint. Loving “Meme” of 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Richard “Dick” McKenna, Terry McKenna, Robert “Bob” McKenna, the late Michael “Mickey” McKenna and the late Maureen McHugh, sister-in-law of Patricia McKenna, Richard “Bozo” McHugh and the late Carolyn McKenna. Susan is also survived by her aunts Anne “Ethel” Butters and Ethel Butters as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday, April 26th for Visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon followed by a Service at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory may be made to Cornerstone VNA, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867.
