TOWN ELECTION RESULTS: 3.5% Of Voters Turn Out For Uncontested Election; Bendel & Caira Return To Select Board For Third Terms

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are the unofficial results from the Wilmington’s 2022 Annual Town Election, which took place on Saturday, April 23, 2022. All races were uncontested.

Board of Selectmen (2 seats)

Greg Bendel (incumbent) — 515
Kevin Caira (incumbent) — 490

School Committee (3 seats)

Stephen Turner (newcomer) — 462
Jesse Fennelly (incumbent) — 460
Jay Samaha (incumbent) — 440

Shawsheen Tech School Committee (1 seat)

Gwendlyn Hupper-Lawson (newcomer) — 518

Housing Authority (1 seat)

Stacie Murphy (incumbent) — 508

634 (out of 1,7865) voters cast a ballot. That’s a 3.5% turnout rate, which was expected given that all races were uncontested.
