OBITUARY: Roberta Sausville Devine, 68 (UPDATE: Funeral Date Changed Due To Storm)

WILMINGTON, MA — Roberta “Robbi” C. Sausville Devine, a generous, loving woman, died tragically on January 21, 2022 at the age of 68.  She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel L. Devine.

Robbi was born on September 13, 1953, and grew up in Bennington, VT, a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Roy) Sausville. After graduating from Mount Anthony Union high school, she followed her passion for travel by embarking on a solo tour across Europe. She later settled in London, England for about two decades where she continued her love of language and theatre.

Upon her return to New England, she began a college education at Johnson State College, later receiving a degree from Labouré College of Healthcare in neurodiagnostic technology. She worked as an EEG technician in Veterans Affairs facilities in the Boston area, committed to health care up until her recent retirement in September 2021.

Robbi was an extremely talented woman—creative, meticulous, and skilled in many areas, including but not limited to sewing, baking, home repairs, singing, and acting. She performed with the Ipswich Community Chorus and in the choir at the Thomas-Villanova Church in Wilmington.

Robbi was determined, passionate, ambitious, and accomplished. She had the most beautiful soul with generosity and compassion beyond compare.  Her loving, sweet and contagious personality will be sorely missed by all – local communities, coworkers, family, and friends.

Cherished stepmother of Daniel J. Devine, his wife Jessica of Andover MA and James W. Devine, his wife Erin of Bedford TX. Loving daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Roy) Sausville. Dear sister of Cheryl M. York, her husband Nathan of Warrensburg NY, Collette L. Tate, her husband James of Rockingham NC, Sylvia B. Sausville of Bennington VT, Celeste M. Edmundson (Jim) of West Boylston MA, and her brother Anthony R. Sausville (Kendy) of Pownal VT.  Known as “Granny” she also leaves behind six grandchildren Liam, Eve, Leo, Nicholas, Charles, and Georgiana Devine as well as many loving nieces and nephews who called her “Tantante”.

A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Thomas – Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA, on MONDAY, January 31st at 10 a.m., followed by her interment in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester MA. Donations may be made in memory of Robbi to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
