OBITUARY: James A. Crowley, Jr., 65

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — James A. Crowley, Jr., fondly known as “Jim” or “Jimbo” to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on October 25, 2021, following a tough battle with cancer.

Jim was born on August 27, 1956, in Chelsea, MA; he was the dear son of the late Eleanor and James A. Crowley, Sr. Jim was raised and educated in North Billerica, he went on to attend Shawsheen Valley Regional Technical High School and graduated with the Class of 1975.

Jim was a great guy with a lot of life-long friends, many of which he knew from working as a bouncer in various clubs and bars. Jim worked as a warehouseman at Instrumentation Laboratories in Bedford before his health started to decline.

Jim enjoyed life, he loved his family and friends unconditionally and would do anything to make them happy. Jim looked forward to so many things in life; time with his family, road trips to the mountains or Lake George or his favorite Nubble Light in Maine. He really missed riding his Harley on the open road. Jim saw the beauty in everyone and everything.

Jim will be fondly remembered for his endearing personality, love of family, fun spirit and great smile; he has forever left a footprint on the hearts of those he touched.

Jim was the beloved husband of Brenda (Tonks) Crowley of Wilmington, devoted father of Jackie Crowley and her companion George Collins of Nashua, NH, step-father of Kenneth O’Donoghue, Timothy O’Donoghue and Christine Gaudet and her husband Mark. Loving “Papa” of Andrew, Emily, Aidan, Keira, Millie, Jake, Piper and Ian. Dear brother of Mark Crowley and his companion Pam Stover of Nashua, NH, Ellen DeAngelis and her husband James of Ashburnham, Son-in-law of Ralph and the late Phyllis Tonks of Wilmington, brother-in-law of Paul and Donna Tonks of Shirley and Diana Fraser of Wilmington. Jim is further survived by an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, October 30th for Visiting Hours from 3:00-6:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jim’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
