OBITUARY: Theresa (Lanza) Colleameno, 90

WILMINGTON, MA — Theresa (Lanza) Colleameno, age 90, of Wilmington, passed away on October 26, 2021, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Theresa was born on September 1, 1931, in Cambridge, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Antonia Dalio. As a child, Theresa lived in East Boston for a few years before moving to Somerville. She was educated in the Somerville school systems.

Theresa met “the love of her life”, Orlando Colleameno, over seventy-five years ago. They dated for a few years before getting married. Lando and Theresa were married for over seventy-two years. They moved from Somerville to Wilmington, where they continued to raise their large, loving family. Their door was always open, and they enjoyed being with their family.

Theresa took pride in her home; with the help of her daughters, Sandra, and Elaine, she made every holiday special. They loved to decorate inside and outside for all the neighborhood kids to enjoy. Christmas and birthdays were Theresa’s favorite; she loved presents. Not only did she like to receive, but she loved to watch others’ open their gifts from her. Sunday dinners were also special to Theresa; she cooked her famous macaroni and spent time catching up with her children, grandchildren, her brother and sister.

In her spare time, Theresa loved to read, especially the newspaper. She liked to drink her morning coffee and read up on the daily current events. Theresa was also known for her love of scratch tickets and spending time out in her yard. She loved all types of flowers, but roses were her favorite.

Theresa will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Her kind and generous love for her family will never be forgotten.

Theresa was the beloved wife of Orlando Colleameno, devoted mother of Elaine Spartichino, David Colleameno, and Sandra Colleameno all of Wilmington, loving “Gram” of Shawna Irons, Amanda Colleameno & her husband Claudio Pereira and the late Leanne Neenan, “Gigi” of Arianna and Alivia, cherished daughter of the late Antonia Dalio, dear sister of Ann Marie Rolando & her husband Joseph and Lenny Dalio & his wife Cathy all of Wilmington. Theresa is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and granddogs.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, October 29th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
