POLICE LOG for August 12: OUI Arrest; Police Speak With Group Of Kids On Bikes At Wilmington Plaza About Behavior

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, August 12, 2021:
  • Geovani Bertan (32, Everett) was issued a summons for Unlicensed Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; Use An Electronic Device While Operating A Motor Vehicle (1st Offense); and No/Expired Inspection Sticker. (6:44am)
  • A resident reported that while walking on McDonald Road, a male party operating a green Honda Pilot took a photo of her and then proceeded to leave the area. Police were unable to locate. Police advised the caller to get the full license plate if she sees the vehicle again. (8:42am)
  • An erratic operator was pulled over on Main Street. Driver showed no signs of impairment, but was driving with the wrong license plates. Driver had bill of sale for the truck and was unaware of the plates issue. Plates were confiscated and the vehicle was towed. (4:36pm)
  • Police spoke with group of kids on bikes outside Panera Bread. They were advised not to leave their bikes in front of the business’s doors and to be cautious when riding in the lot. (5:23pm)
  • North Reading Police reported a stabbing in their town. They were in pursuit of a motorcycle that was possibly involved. Wilmington Police assisted in shutting down 93 North Exit 35 on-ramp. (5:31pm)
  • Police moved along a group of juveniles from the Fourth of July Building parking lot. (8:20pm)
  • Kurt Michael Gaudet (45, Malden) was arrested for OUI Liquor (2nd Offense); Leaving Scene Of Property Damage; and Marked Lanes Violation. Gaudet’s vehicle struck the guardrail near Winchester Family Medical Center on Salem Street. (9:53pm)
