#1) Wilmington Library’s Summer Bash On The Swain Green
Below is a a message from Wilmington Memorial Library Director Tina Stewart:
Dear Wilmington Residents,
I would like to personally invite you to attend the annual Summer Bash on the Swain Green on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 5:30pm. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, kick back and listen to a variety of songs played by our DJ. Kids will enjoy games, balloon twisting and more; purchase dinner at Fat Belly BBQ or Bird’s Nest Paninis food trucks with dessert from Alex’s Ice Cream.
As a library and as a community, we have so much to celebrate! The Summer Bash marks the end of our annual summer reading program congratulating all participants. The Summer Bash is also the finale event of the library’s 150th Anniversary Celebration. Take a selfie in front of the large 150th anniversary logo sign as a keepsake. The Friends of the Library will be on hand to distribute 150 packages of sugar cookies. Show your support for WML by joining the Friends that night and be entered into a drawing for a restaurant gift certificate. We will also be saying a fond farewell to our much beloved Youth Services Librarian Barbara Raab who is retiring with August 13 her last day at WML. We will honor and celebrate Barbara’s ten years of exemplary service to Wilmington’s children and families at the Summer Bash. Finally, we are celebrating seeing everyone and enjoying good times together once again.
See you on the Swain Green!
