WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Saturday, May 29, 2021:

#1) Wilmington’s Memorial Day Activities Begin

The Wilmington Veterans Department invites residents to the decoration of all the veterans’ squares and memorials around town, beginning with William Harrison Square at Adams Street and Church Street at 10:15am. Taps will be played at all squares.

#2) Book Store Next Door Is Open With New Protocols

The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm.

An important message from the Friends:

The Book Store Next Door is changing our COVID protocols. We have already resumed our normal business hours: Saturdays and Wednesdays 10 a.m.- 4p.m. Now that the governor has eased restrictions, we are gradually transitioning back to our regular operations. Until mid-June, masks will still be required for patrons and volunteers during business hours.

Beginning immediately we will no longer limit the number of shoppers inside, but “social distancing” is still encouraged to the extent possible in our tight quarters. However, we reserve the right to limit admissions and/or browsing times if conditions warrant.

Also effective immediately we are suspending our COVID traffic pattern. Customers should now come and go by the front door. Those dropping off donations should bring them to the back door (Please ring the doorbell for service if necessary). We are lifting the 1-2 bag/box limit on donations, but ask that you make prior arrangements for larger contributions.

As of Wednesday, June 16th, patrons and volunteers who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a face mask. We will continue to provide hand sanitizer prior to browsing.

Once again, we thank our faithful patrons and volunteers for your patience and cooperation over the past year. We can’t wait to see you all again soon. And we look forward to welcoming new shoppers (and donors) as we all celebrate “getting back to normal”.

#3) Town Looking To Fill Finance Committee Vacancies
