Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Henry R. Witkowski, Jr., fondly known as “Murph”, of Wilmington, MA passed away unexpectedly at home on May 21, 2021; he was 78 years old.

Henry was born on July 9, 1942, in Boston, MA; he was the dear son of the late Henry and Wanda (Jakubiak) Witkowski. Henry was raised and educated in Chelsea and a graduate from Chelsea High School in 1960.

Henry married the love of his life Vincenza “Vinnie” Genualdo in June of 1963. The couple moved to Wilmington, MA in February of 1969 where they raised their beautiful family and created countless memories together before her untimely passing on November 4, 1993.

Family was Henry’s number one priority and his greatest accomplishment. He worked hard to provide for them and was always supportive of both his children and grandchildren. He was never afraid to share his own experiences and opinions; always making sure to let everyone know how proud he was and much he loved them.

Henry enjoyed having family and friends around his dinner table. His door was always open, and his house was often filled with visitors. Being the incredible cook he was, he looked forward to his weekly “Grandpa Murph Dinners” and cherished cooking his grandchildren’s favorite meals each week.

In his younger years, he was an auto glass installer for JN Phillips before venturing out and forming his own company. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and gardening. He was known to have quite the “green thumb,” and his wide variety of fruits and vegetables were impressive. All of which he would share with family, friends, and neighbors. In his retired years, he was an avid QVC shopper and enjoyed collecting many different trinkets and collectables. He also enjoyed “trying his luck” buying scratch tickets and visiting casinos.

Henry was outgoing, friendly, and loyal. He made many long-time friends who he kept in touch with through the years at the Knights of Columbus, VFW, DAV and the American Legion.

He will be fondly remembered as a “great guy”. He treasured every moment spent with his family and friends who he loved with all his heart and will forever be missed.

Henry was the beloved husband of the late Vincenza (Genualdo) Witkowski, devoted father of Charlene & Paul Williamson of Derry, NH, Henry Witkowski III & his wife Denise of Billerica, MA, Christopher Witkowski & his wife Leanne of Pelham, NH and Michelle Fonseca & her husband William of Methuen, MA.
