WILMINGTON, MA – Last month, the Wilmington School Committee approved a new 3-year contract for Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand.
The deal, which runs from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024, allows the School Committee to roll over the agreement for a fourth and fifth year.
Dr. Brand’s FY22 salary has been set at $206,610.00, which represents a 2.5% raise from his current $201,571.00 salary.
He will receive a $5,000 annual in-district travel allowance and a $1,000 annual cell phone allowance.
Dr. Brand will be reimbursed for mileage for outside-the-district travel at the current IRS rate. He will also be reimbursed for professional association dues and costs associated with attending professional development workshops.
Dr. Brand will receive 4 weeks’ vacation, 20 sick days, up to 5 bereavement days, and 3 personal leave days per year.
He is eligible to receive health insurance and dental insurance offered to other school employees.
“I want to thank Dr. Brand for the last three years and I look forward to him leading the district for the next three years,” said School Committee Vice Chair David Ragsdale after the unanimous vote on April 14, 2021.
“It has been my pleasure to become a part of your community and work with you for the last three years,” Dr. Brand told the School Committee. “I’m excited about the good work that started. Hopefully we’re returning to a greater degree of normalcy and we’ll continue the important work and opportunities that are ahead for Wilmington. Thank you for this opportunity. I sincerely appreciate it.”
Dr. Brand has been Wilmington’s School Superintendent since July 2018. He was chosen after an extensive selection process that saw 23 candidates apply.
