Dear Friends,
I am writing this letter to give my whole hearted support to Melissa Plowman for School Committee. Melissa is a dedicated wife, mother, friend and community member for our town. That would be more than enough to support her in this endeavor but what I find most essential about Melissa joining the School Committee is her professional experience as a child psychologist and, more specifically, a consultant to school systems. We have been enduring so much this past year and all of us- community members, parents, students, educators- are going to need time and thoughtful planning to really get to the other side of all that we have been challenged with. Melissa will help guide us as a community.
No one currently sitting on the school committee could have anticipated all of the challenges and decisions they would be faced with since March of 2020. This group of volunteer community leaders have time and time again sacrificed their time with their own families to try to help guide us through these unchartered waters. We can’t begin to thank them enough. Melissa will be a great addition to the current committee and I look forward to seeing her complement the great work of Jen Bryson, MJ Byrnes, Dave Ragsdale, Jesse Fennelly, Jo Newhouse and Jay Samaha.
Please join me in voting for Melissa Plowman, MJ Byrnes and David Ragsdale on Saturday, April 24th. Please join me in thanking the Wilmington School Committee for all that they have done this past year and continue to do for us.
