LETTER: David Ragsdale’s Experience & Expertise In Education Is An Asset To The Wilmington School Committee

Dear Wilmington community,

I am writing to express my overwhelming support for David Ragsdale’s re-election to the Wilmington School Committee.

David’s knowledge about public education & his experience on the School Committee is essential for moving Wilmington Public Schools forward in a positive direction. As an education specialist at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE), he has valuable insight about public education on the state and local level. This unique perspective allows him to weigh the specific aspects of education in Wilmington with state-level requirements and initiatives.

In addition to his experience with public education, few can match his calm, down-to-earth, & thoughtful demeanor. David is a great listener & tries to fully understand other people’s perspectives. We have had numerous discussions about education over the years and as a career public-school educator in another district, I am always impressed with David’s listening skills and solutions-oriented approach. While some public education decision makers lack these attributes, David’s stellar leadership skills are always evident.

Covid has posed a formidable challenge to public educators and school leaders. New, unforeseen challenges will most likely continue to alter the educational landscape. Re-electing David Ragsdale to the Wilmington School Committee will provide needed continuity & expertise. He’s a valuable asset to the Wilmington school community & I encourage voters to join me in voting for David on April 24.

Sincerely,

Beth Morgan
