LETTER: Former Selectman Lou Cimaglia Endorses Jim DeFeo For School Committee

Fellow Wilmington residents,

I’m writing this letter on behalf of my good friend Jim DeFeo, a candidate for School Committee here in Wilmington.

I’ve been fortunate to know Jim for over 20 years. During that time, he’s proven time and again to have the judgement and character necessary to be an elected official in our town.

A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, Jim is not short on leadership experience. He managed multi-million dollar projects with the Corps of Engineers, as well as years of navigating Title IV financial aid issues. He has experience in working with both union officials and management in contract negotiations and labor disputes.

A veteran myself, we connected over our shared service. But it’s his experience as a father and family man that stands out to me, time and again. Jim is the father of six wonderful children, who have been in the Wilmington school system for the better part of 15 years, with plenty of years left to go.

Jim knows the importance of a strong and well-informed School Committee. It means a great deal to his town, and it means a great deal of his family.

I’m so proud to call Jim a friend — and I’m proud to recommend him for Wilmington School Committee. Cast a ballot for Jim on Saturday, April 24.

Peace,

Lou Cimaglia
