TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Middlesex Ave. — From Federal St. To Shady Lane Dr. — To Be Paved In April

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Department of Public Works:

WILMINGTON, MA — Please be advised that the Wilmington Department of Public Works will begin work on the above roadway tentatively planned to begin Monday March 29, 2021.

Work will begin with the installation of vertical granite curbing between the Whitefield School parking lot and Shady Lane Drive. As the project progresses, Middlesex Ave will be resurfaced from Federal Street to Shady Lane Drive in mid to late April 2021.

During milling and paving operations, Middlesex Ave will be closed in the eastbound direction at Federal Street. Traffic will be detoured using Federal Street to Woburn Street to High Street. Local residents will have access to their properties using the detour, although there may be short delays. The closure will only be in effect during construction operations.

Please check the town’s website, social media pages, and message board signs for precise lane closure dates as the project gets closer and obey the directives of police details, detour signs, and warning signs during all construction operations.

If you have any questions, or require additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 978-658-4481.
