#1) Habit Burger To Offer Free Food To Wilmington Teachers & Staff Today

The Habit Burger Grill (196 Ballardvale Street) is giving away a free burger, sandwich or salad to Wilmington Public Schools employees on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 10:30am to 9pm. Employees must show their school ID.

#2) Watch Shawsheen Tech School Committee Meeting

The Shawsheen Tech’s Policy Subcommittee meets at 3pm. Read the agenda HERE. Watch the meeting live on the school’s YouTube channel.

#3) Red Cross Blood Drive At Wilmington Masonic Lodge

 Wilmington Masonic Lodge (32 Church Street) is holding a Red Cross Blood Drive from 1pm to 7pm. Interested donors can call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to book an appointment. Donors can also visit http://www.redcross.org to schedule an appointment.

#4) Library Event: Preschool Storytime

The Wilmington Memorial Library is holding a virtual Preschool Storytime at 10am. This storytime for preschoolers includes books, rhymes, and music. Ages 3-5. Zoom Meeting Room invitations will be emailed to registered attendees at least one hour before the event. Register HERE.

#5) Library Event: The Past, Present, and Future of the Gender Wage Gap

Dr. Debra Michals, Director of Women’s and Gender Studies at Merrimack College, and a women’s/gender historian, will speak on the history of the gender wage gap and what current obstacles are still in place that prevent it from closing at 7pm via Zoom. She will discuss the importance of women in the workplace over the years and discrimination they’ve faced. Dr. Michals’ expertise includes feminist history and social movements from marginalized groups, having earned a B.S. in Journalism from Boston University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in U.S. History from New York University. She is currently publishing a book on the rise of women’s entrepreneurship following WWII. Register HERE.
