WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Memorial Library held its second Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Panel on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
Boston University Education faculty member Jennifer Bryson, Boutwell & Shawsheen Schools Media Specialist Melanie Patterson, and Wilmington Memorial Library Teen Librarian Brittany Tuttle led this presentation on:
- rethinking the media our families consume through an antiracist lens
- encouraging participants to rethink the media our families consume, including books, movies, and TV shows
- discussing how our identities shape our responses to equity in our community
Wilmington High School English teacher Lisa Desberg, Wilmington Middle School English teacher Jaclyn Madden, and Wilmington High School Social Studies teacher Maura Tucker joined the panel to discuss the ways in which they are embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in their classrooms.
