WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Fourth of July Committee recently announced that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2020 on the Town Common has been cancelled.
The Department of Public Works will still place holiday lights on the Town Common trees during the weekend of December 4, 2020. The lights will remain up during the winter.
The Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce currently has a request in to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen to host its annual Ice Sculpture Display on the Common, likely during the week of December 7, 2020. More details will be announced soon.
