#1) Wilmington Library & WCTV Presents ‘Cookin’ The Books’
Join Library Associate Lisa Crispin as she demonstrates a recipe from the cookbook Indian-ish: Recipes and Antics from a Modern American Family by Priya Krishna. Live on WCTV, Comcast 9 / Verizon 37 and online at WCTV.org/live at 2pm.
#2) Wilmington Library Presents ‘Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Panel: Part 1’
Jennifer Bryson, BU Education faculty member, Melanie Patterson, Boutwell & Shawsheen Schools Media Specialist, and Brittany Tuttle, the WML’s Teen Librarian, will lead this presentation at 7pm on rethinking the media our families consume through an antiracist lens, encouraging participants to:
- Rethink the media our families consume, including books, movies, and TV shows.
- Discuss how our identities shape our responses to equity in our community.
- Investigate the concept of mirrors and windows in our children’s texts/media.
- Review and discuss problematic media.
- Discuss race and representation with your children.
- You will use what you learned here to continue the antiracist work we’ve started.
This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent at least an hour prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration. Wilmington Community Television is seeking local arts organizations for a new program, “Arts for the MASSes.” If your non-profit could benefit from sharing your mission or promoting an upcoming performance, fundraiser or virtual experience then this is the program for you. #4) In-Person Early Voting At Town Hall For September 1 Primary
The Office of Town Clerk has established its In-Person Early Voting Hours for the September 1, 2020 Primary.
All Early Voting sessions will be conducted in the Auditorium at Wilmington Town Hall (121 Glen Road).
- Saturday, August 22, 2020: 2pm to 6pm
- Sunday, August 23, 2020: 8am to noon
- Monday, August 24, 2020 to Friday, August 28, 2020: 8:30am to 4:30pm
#5) TRAFFIC ADVISORY: National Grid To Install Gas Line From High School To Library
Please be advised that starting Monday, August 24, 2020, National Grid is beginning prep-work and mobilization to install a 4” gas line along Route 62 (Church Street & Middlesex Ave) from the High School exit driveway (start point) to the Library.
The project is scheduled to occur over a 2 to 3 week period, ending prior to the start of the school year.
Police will direct patrons entering the library. Entrance to the library’s parking lot via Wildwood Street is an alternative option.
