WILMINGTON, MA — Watch the latest episode of “Talk of the Town” with WCTV host Lisa Kapala featuring quick stories from around town.
In this episode, Kapala speaks with Wilmington Health & Recovery Coordinator Samantha Reif on staying sane and sober during these difficult times with quarantine and social distancing.
Reif talks about how those in recovery are using technology (e.g., Zoom meetings, phone calls, etc.) as part of their treatment plans.
“People are becoming really creative about coming together… because of social distancing,” noted Reif.
Reif can be reached by phone (work cell: 978-447-2296) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and has continued to connect residents to services despite working primarily home. She’s still able to meet with residents in the community as long as they’re not showing symptoms and social distancing protocols are followed.
Reif also offers tips for those in recovery and discusses several topical issues, including if there’s been an uptick in a request for services during these times, why liquor stores are considered “essential,” the status of available beds in treatment centers; and information about telehealth and phone call support groups.
