Parish Of The Transfiguration Announces This Week’s Family Faith Challenge

Below is a message from the Parish of the Transfiguration:

Hello Wilmington Families,

We hope you are all well and we continue to pray for you all as we help you through this difficult time.

This week’s challenge is to pray for all those who are directly involved in the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are asking you to pray for COVID-19 patients and their families, our healthcare workers, first responders and those in the armed forces  in addition to any of your own personal intentions.  We ask that you fill out a heart for each of these intentions and hang them on your door and windows for all to see and pray for.  We encourage you to send this challenge electronically to  your friends, neighbors and relatives to see how many prayers we can get asking for God’s help.

Attached is this week’s Reflection / Meditation with directions.

Below is a prayer that we are asking you to  say with your families. Prayer is a form of meditation that Catholics have practiced for years to help us overcome difficulties and challenges in our lives.

Please be patient, prayerful and obedient and know that we are all in this together and with God’s help we will all get through this.

Blessings for continued physical, mental and spiritual health to your family and please keep the faith!

Parish of the Transfiguration Staff

Pray for us, Oh Lord and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness.

For those already afflicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance.
Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust.

In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient  and kind.  Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.

Shelter us under the mantle of your protection, keep us in the embrace of your arms,
help us always to know the love of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
